A few months ago I was tracking guitars here in Bogota, at a little well know studio. In the corner and pretty unnoticed I saw the top part of this vintage B52. I'm not much of a bass player but I was curious to hear it. In pretty much pristine state, this old B15 blew me away and I had to profile it. Same day of the session I pulled out my kemper and got at it. Using a lot of modern and vintage mic combinations into a Neve 8078 console I felt like I was able to nail the tones of glam rock, motown, and even a lot of modern pop bass tones. I'm a huge fan of the B15 tones and they can be yours too via the kemper.

1964 B15 Worship Rig - Based off of the clean profile, this profile has some standard effects being used in modern worship with the vintage amp vibes. It’s an outlined canvas waiting for you to color on your next Sunday.

1964 B15 Play-n-Cold - The B15 is a favorite of a certain UK rock band. Although they used the reissued version that had a limited run, this profile should get you really close to any of those tones so you can dust off your P-bass. Try it!

1964 B15 IndiRig - A nice Indi rig that should sound great with just about anything you need those vibes for.

1964 B15 SM7b - Real vintage 1964 Ampeg B15NC profiled with only the Shure SM7b for more high mid response.

1964 B15 Ribbon - Real vintage 1964 Ampeg B15NC profiled with only the sE Electronics RNR1 for a Motown vintage bass color but with modern definition.

1964 B15 Ribbon - Real vintage 1964 Ampeg B15NC profiled with only the Sennheiser e906 for a modern tone that has a fuller range sound.

1964 B15 Drive - Real vintage 1964 Ampeg B15NC profiled with Anthony’s idea of a neutral mic capture for this bass amp, Sennheiser MD421 and a Royer 121. Gain was added for natural tube drive.

1964 B15 D20 - Real vintage 1964 Ampeg B15NC profiled with only a vintage AKG D20 for an Indi rock sound that’s unbelievable.

1964 B15 Clean - Real vintage 1964 Ampeg B15NC profiled with Anthony’s idea of a neutral mic capture for this bass amp, Sennheiser MD421 and a Royer 121.
