Biografia

Cortney Richardson is an incredible voice with a powerful sound that will lift your heart and stir the soul. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Cortney brings a new sound with an infectious voice that everyone loves. With passion, talent and a powerful message of faith, hope, unity and love, Cortney continues to impact young and old alike through his gifts of music, training and teaching.

Raised by his parents who orchestrated their own choirs Cortney gave his debut solo performance as young boy at the age of four years old. Later, this musical prodigy evolved as a premiere songwriter, producer and minister of the gospel with a rich heritage of influencers from Memphis’ enduring music culture ranging from B.B. King, the Staple Singers, and Otis Redding to Orlando Draper and the Associates.


In 2013 Cortney released his freshman project In This Place which reached the Top 20 chart on iTunes. He continues to be heard around the globe as he tours annually. Cortney has received many accolades for his work both musically and civically. Most recently, he received the Memphis Music Ambassador Award. Additionally, his revolutionary leadership while at alma mater the University of Memphis distinguished has him as an advocate of social justice and a visionary leader in ministry.

2018 marks the sophomore release of Cortney’s latest musical masterpiece, “Do it Again.” This work features powerful lyrics, masterful musicianship and impeccable vocal quality that captures the essence of great gospel sound. It’s undeniable Cortney currently serves as Youth and Young Adult Pastor at New Life of Memphis and Program Director/Ambassador for the Peer Power Foundation, a youth development organization which hires high performing college and high school students to tutor their peers. Cortney strongly believes in the power of the word of God. His life’s passion is to know Jesus and to make Him known!
