Puchi Colón will soon celebrate 30 years of ministry, having carried the message of salvation through his music in both English and Spanish across Puerto Rico, the United States, and internationally. He is a singer, songwriter, worship leader, musician, and producer. Puchi was born in New Jersey and is of Puerto Rican descent. His passion for music complements his sincere love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, and his conviction to contribute to the Kingdom of God. He recognizes his talent as a gift from God and offers it as an act of worship.Puchi released his first solo album in 1996 titled "Voy a Comenzar" (I Will Begin). In 1997, Ralph Hernández joined Puchi and they formed his band, giving them the opportunity to travel throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Guatemala, and Nicaragua.
In 2000, Puchi and his wife JoAnn released the album "Busca A Jesús" (Seek Jesus) under their label, Jovi Music, along with the first English-language Salsa Praise album—bringing something entirely new to the Christian music market: a full Christian salsa album in English. In the summer of 2003, Puchi was honored as “Artist of the Year” on New York Christian Radio 970 DJ. He has been nominated for the Latino Diamonds Awards, Premios El Galardón, Praise Music Awards, and Premios Radikal. Puchi participated in the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., during the presidency of George W. Bush. He has also appeared on shows such as TBN's Alabanza al Señor, The 700 Club (CBN), TCT Network, Medio Día Puerto Rico on WAPA América, Sesiones de La Loma in Puerto Rico, and Congahead Studios in NYC. His extensive musical repertoire includes 14 albums. Among them, Que no pare (Don’t Stop the Praise) stands out, featuring a special appearance by maestro Bobby Cruz on one of the tracks. He has collaborated musically with artists such as Richie Ray, Rubén Félix, Rene Gonzalez, Domingo Quiñones, Jay Kalyl, Jared Anderson, Unified Sound, Luis Fabian, LaRue Howard, Kevin Ceballo, David & Abraham, Norberto Velez, Sesiones desde La Loma, and recently, his son Joel Colón. Currently, Puchi Colón enjoys having his 3 sons Mickael(Trombone), Joel (Trumpet/Vocals) & Sammy (Drums/Timbal) be a part of the "Salsa Praise Band".
It’s also worth noting that Puchi Colón has 14 musical productions to his name. Some of his latest singles include songs like "What's Going On", "Obediencia", "Vivo Enamorado", "WayMaker" (Spanish), "Haz Tu Voluntad", "Great I Am" (Latin Arrangement), "Coritos Medley", "Por Siempre Te Adoraré", "Felicidad Todo El Año", "Goodness of God", and "La Bondad de Dios", a track that reached the Top Ten on Nueva Vida 97.7 FM in Puerto Rico. Puchi Colón has served as Worship Leader at Word of Life Christian Center in Denver, Colorado, under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Tim Bagwell. Currently, Puchi lives in Florida, with his wife JoAnn and four sons. Undoubtedly, he has seen the goodness of God throughout every stage of his journey.
